Fill the Room with Light

"You can't take darkness out of a dark room, but you can fill it with light." ~Lindsey Stirling This seems like common sense: you can't remove darkness. However this quote isn't just about darkness and light. We can relate it to ourselves in so many ways. ~Light will always prevail over darkness.  ~The only way to get rid of negativity in our lives is to fill it with positivity.  ~Righteousness will always win over wickedness.  No matter how many analogies or interpretations we make of this quote. It will always be true. We really can't take darkness out of a room but we can fill it with light.  What do you like about this quote? What did you take from it?

Live in the Moment

"When we show up in the present moment with all of our senses, we invite the world to fill us with joy. The pains of the past behind us. The future has yet to unfold. But the now is full of beauty simply waiting for our attention." ~Unknown I strangely came across this quote in Driver's Ed. (Yes, I am taking Driver's Ed currently!!! Crazy! 😱)  Anyway, I really like what this says. I think it is very important for us to take in the present moment with all of our senses, so we can experience it completely. I think if we are always wanting what the future has to offer or if we're trapped in the past we miss things that are happening right now.  The present is one moment but it's always happening. Which means our current thoughts and actions make it up. Don't waste the present, use the time you have been given!!!  I have always thought about how we can either accept the past and move on or we can constantly have it on our mind and never truly let it go. I lik...

Remember Who You Are

One of my all-time favorite quotes is this one.  My grandmother has this quote framed and it sits on her dresser. Me and my mother have a framed copy of this quote as well. So it has become really special to me because all three of us have it.  "On the darkest days, when I feel inadequate, unloved and unworthy, I remember whose daughter I am and I straighten my crown." -Unknown This helps me to truly remember who I am, and who all of us are and that is a son or daughter of God. Our identity will never change no matter what we do in life. No matter what others say or do to us. They can't change who we are or where we came from.  9/30/23 Edit There was an el What does this quote mean to you?

Smile Because It Happened

I have a quote in my room that sits on my bookshelf.  "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." ~Dr. Seuss  I think this quote has a really good point. I think sometimes it can be hard to be happy when something is over, for example, you are at a really fun event and now it's time to leave. As my Dad says "All good things must come to an end."    I have had lots of experiences with this. For example, I have had many family members I haven't seen in a long time come to visit and then we reach the point where they have to leave or we have to go home. That has always been hard.  Another important point to mention is that even though a fun experience is over, there will be other fun experiences in the future. We just have to remember that they won't happen right away. If day-to-day life doesn't seem worthwhile, find something to look forward to each day and that will make life all the more meaningful.  I hope all of us will always...
