Now Let Us Reflect

My, what a year we have had!!! I can't believe 2020 is almost over. It has definitely been hard but here we are still making it through.  "Christmas is a season not only of rejoicing but of reflection." ~Winston Churchill   This year has definitely been difficult and my family has hit some rough patches this year and feelings of uncertainty. The joke was that we would all see clearer this year because we would have 2020 vision. But I am afraid that my vision this year has been a little foggy and the future is a bit unknown.  Nonetheless, through all the uncertainty and hardship I have reflected on the good things lately that have happened this year rather than the challenges I have received. That has truly made all the difference.  For example, I started a journal where I have written down at least one miracle I had that day. Stronger

  Important Note : This is not meant to be a racial or stereotypical poem in fact I didn't think of that at all when I originally wrote this. I just wrote about someone who was being treated unfairly and had to fight to gain their freedom.  Originally Written: 8th grade   Stronger It’s dark and lonely. They have taken everything we had. They have beaten us, hurt us. They have told us we are nothing. I feel empty and hopeless. Depressed and sad. Nothing can raise my spirits. They were right, I’m nothing. I have memories of a better time. When they were not in charge. When we were worth something. When we were happy. Now, everything is different. We are treated like dirt. We feel so empty and lost.
