100 Years

Hello!!! Here is my list of songs that correlate to the posts I have made this month. Hope you enjoy it.  March 2021 Songs    Time Flies     March 13th - Don't Blink by Kenny Chesney  - 100 Years by Five For Fighting ~I wasn't sure which song to choose for this post both songs are really good and very relevant.  Hard Before Easy March 21st - Try Everything by Shakira ~I really love this song and what the lyrics remind me of. I think this song could really help someone if they feel like giving up.  Education -Don't Take It For Granted March   29th - One Day by Matisyahu - Kindness Video  (with the same song.)  ~Many people are still fighting for their right to an education. Malala was shot because of what she stood for. The Taliban shot people because they didn't agree with people being educated. Malala wants these wars to stop. This song goes along the lines of no more wars and peace.  ~The kindness video really touch...

Don't Take Education For Granted

On the ninth of October 2012, a girl was shot by the Taliban. Her name was Malala Yousafzai. The world held its breath as they awaited the news... would she live? Malala survived, miraculously, and she left a legacy behind. A legacy she is still living.  Last week I read a speech Malala had given in English class. I was very impressed with Malala and everything she stands for. She is certainly someone to be remembered and admired.  Malala is a firm believer in education, she wants every child to receive one.  I think everyone has a right to an education. Everyone deserves one. Just like everyone is entitled to their own opinions and thoughts, everyone should be entitled to an education. There are 258 million children who don't go to school ( source ). That's a lot of kids.  One of the things that struck me the most from the speech I read was this, "I want education for the sons and daughters of the Taliban and all terrorists and extremists." ~Malala Yousafzai  N...

Why Songs?

I have decided to try something new... I will be adding a post each month of a short list of songs that relate to my posts. Feel free to listen to them and tell me what you think. I am really big on music and I regularly listen to music daily.  Music means a lot to me. Music expresses things that words cannot. It brings us together and heals us. It causes us to feel things, powerfully. Music inspires us. It even reminds us of things.  I love music and I am grateful for it, especially the effect it has on my life.   What does music mean to you? The songs for my posts can be found in two places: -Bottom of post. (Note: Not all posts will have a song.) -Monthly playlist. (Note: This will be posted on the last day of each month.) Important Notice: Instead of including long links on my posts all links will be the name of the song, (text should be blue.)

Hard Before Easy

"All things are difficult before they are easy." ~Thomas Fuller This quote has been true in my life many times, especially when I am learning something new. I have just started driving and I will be receiving my permit in the next few weeks. Driving has turned out to not be as easy for me as I thought.  At first, it can be really hard to steer the car, check your cameras, pay attention to signs, and watch your speed all at the same time. But as with anything, practice makes progress. So I know I am bound to get better as long as I keep practicing. We will have multiple opportunities in our lives to try something new and most of the time it won't be easy right away but with practice, a little patience, and faith the task will get easier.  Our brains understand the concept of repetition. Just like you have the same schedule each day (more or less) the more you repeat the process the more likely you are to remember it. It's the same thing with other things. The more you...

Time Flies

"It's pretty scary to know how quickly time flies." ~James Wan A year ago, today, I stepped through the doors of Riverwood Middle School never to come in person again. It was Friday the 13th, the worst luck for sure. Little did I know how drastically my life would change. Time flies and it's definitely scary to see how fast it goes. I felt like I wasn't actively doing as many things (while being stuck at home) so in turn it felt like not a lot of time had passed. Turns out that year went faster than any other.  I have learned a lot in a year. My faith has grown, my friendships have been strengthened, I've grown closer to my family, and I learned new concepts and tasks. A lot can occur in just one year. One moment can change your life forever.  Looking back... -I realized how much we take human interaction for granted.  -I realized that there will be things that happen to us that we will never know the answer to why they happened.  Things I have learned... ~To...

Life is Like Steak

"Life is like steak. You can't eat all of it in one bite. Just take one small bite at a time." ~Sarah McLamb Okay, first off, I don't eat steak. In fact, I can't even think of a time when I have. Our family commonly eats more chicken than beef. LOL.  Anyway, the point is, you can't eat steak in one bite. It's not possible. Life is the same way. We can't live all of it in one moment. That's the beauty of it. Life is meant to be lived one moment at a time, not all at once. Let's say you get sick. I know, very unfortunate, but it happens. You are out of school, work, etc. for a week. You come back and bam! You feel miles and miles behind. The worst part: you have to make up for all the work you missed and on top of that you have to keep up with the work currently going on.  I find it very hard to believe that someone could make up a week's worth of work in one day. In fact, that would be pretty much impossible, unless perhaps you don't wa...
