Just Have Hope

 "Find something you love to do, and you'll never work a day in your life." ~Harvey MacKay I agree with this quote, a lot. If you find something you love to do then you won't mind having a job doing it. I really enjoy writing and one day I hope to publish a book. I also really like teaching. So teaching each day would be something I would really enjoy.  I hope each of you will be able to have a job that you love, either now or someday. Why would you choose a career path you don't like? Go to school for something you're passionate about, then you'll enjoy your classes.  Whatever you do and wherever you go, I hope you will be able to fulfill your passions and have the ability to do so.  What are you passionate about?

You wake up the next morning and that today you wasted is gone forever." ~Jerry Spinelli The first time I came across this quote it hit me hard. We can never get back the today's that have gone by, however, we can make today and the next day even better. So live today and don't waste it.  Remember that wasting time means you lose moments of your life. Be patient when it comes to the future. What better time do we have than now?  ~What moments mean the most to you?

Asking for help isn't a sign of weakness, it's a sign of strength. It shows you have the courage to admit when you don't know something, and to learn something new." -Barack Obama Many people are afraid of asking questions. Afraid of admitting they don't know something, however, we shouldn't be afraid. In fact, we should be excited to ask questions and the desire to learn more.  Knowledge is received by asking questions. We don't know until we ask it. The gospel was restored because one person decided to ask a question.   For a while, I thought asking the most questions in math class was a bad thing. It's not. I won't learn the material unless I can ask questions. So now, whenever I have a question, I ask it.  Next time you have a question, ask it ...

"You make a life out of what you have, not what you're missing." ~Kate Morton  If we spent all of our lives trying to fill it with what was missing we wouldn't be living. Why would you waste your whole life, saving for a Ferrari, being jealous about the people who have one, and spending every spare minute imagining what it would be like to have one. That wouldn't be a very fulfilling life. We build our lives and our families on what we do have. The gospel, our homes, and most importantly love.  I think I would miss out on what life has to offer if I focused on getting/receiving the things I don't have.  There will always be things we don't have, but there will always be more that we actually have. I hope we never lose the most important things such as love, family, and friendship. Those are the things that make life so meaningful and what bring us the most joy.  Make a list of everything you do have in your life, you will be amazed at the results.
